Do I need an account?
No. You can ask questions and read every page without one. Signing in keeps your conversations and applications with your account, so you can return to them on another device.
Does UGGov charge for its help?
Asking questions is free. When our team handles an application for you, you pay one all-in price that includes the agency's fee, and you see it before you pay. When you apply yourself, you pay only the agency's fee.
How do I pay a government fee?
When our team handles your application, you pay the all-in price by Mobile Money or bank to the number your application shows, after you confirm it. When you apply yourself, you pay the agency directly, using the payment reference (PRN) the service gives you. No one from UGGov will ask for your PIN or password.
How do I follow my application?
Open Ask UGGov, then Services, then My Applications. Each application shows the step it has reached and what, if anything, you need to do next.
Which languages can I use?
26 languages, including English, Luganda, Swahili and Runyankole. Type in yours and the assistant replies in it.
What if the assistant gets something wrong?
Tell it, and it checks again. For fees, deadlines and who holds an office, it searches current sources before it answers. Every service page links to the agency's official site.
What happens to my information?
We use it to answer you, to run the services you start, and to improve UGGov. We do not sell it. Read how we protect it and what your rights are: Data protection
Is UGGov a government website?
UGGov is owned by the Government of Uganda and run for it by Afrosoft IT Solutions, a Ugandan company. Decisions on your application are always made by the agency that provides the service.
